The Standard for Non-Standard Insurance

Alliance of Insurance Agents of North Carolina was established in 1988 in response to the elimination of Designated Non-Standard Agents in North Carolina. With this change, AIANC was given a seat of the Board of Governors for the North Carolina Reinsurance Facility.

While AIANC is a smaller group of agency principals, we represent nearly 500,000 insureds in NC. We have been instrumental in passing critical legislation including:

GS 58-33-85(b): Allowed agents to charge policy fees

Senate Bill 881: Defined penalties for having a lapse of auto liability

Raising Property Damage Liability limits from $15,000 to $25,000

We focus specifically on the challenges and needs of the non-standard auto industry and constantly look for way to support agents, recommend legislation, and overcome hurdles in our ever-changing marketplace.
